What my House really looks like:

What do you get when you’re really sick and fatigued with pregnancy, have ADD,  your husband is really busy at work and he is also sick? Oh and add in three little boys, of course. My messy house! Although, looking at these pictures, it doesn’t look half as bad as it could considering… This is real life for the Rice’s!

Photo #1: My kitchen floor is the bane of my existence, along with the chairs and table which are always dirty thanks to little hands. That food under the table was there for a few days. Call me gross if you want, but sometimes you go into survival mode and can only do the most important things.

Photo# 2: I loathe our stair pile. It almost makes me miss our old Bungalow.

Photo # 3: Family room, aka playroom. Not too bad… at least the Lego isn’t dumped all over the floor. Toy mess doesn’t bother me as much, at least it means they are playing.

Photo # 4: The boys room.

Last week was teachers convention and I told my oldest it was time to clean up that mess. He said with a hint of disbelief in his voice: “But it’s a PD day!” Ha! They did such a great job though. Even cleaned under their bed.

In the process of cleaning:

All done! My middle child is cuddling his skeleton, named skellie.

P.S making your bed when you have bunk beds is really tricky.

  1. I've said it before, and I'll say it again.. I love how REAL you are. The total real deal. Unapologetically REAL.

    Thank you for that.

I will have to remember this once we adopt our child(ren) and our house is in a similar state and my type-A self is fffffffreaking out. Real life. Real life. Real life.

  2. Thanks for being real! I think more mothers need to be. Enough of all this fakeness and 'perfection' going around :) Lately i've been posting my 'disasters' on facebook and i get a lot of positive encouragement from it :)
